Sidewalk Chalk Paint

You have little ones that love to paint it is One of the most simple recipes for homemade paint is sidewalk chalk paint and safe for little ones as it has no toxic in it.There are only three ingredients, and prep time is literally two minutes. There is no heavy mixing or cooking involved. The texture is really cool. It's slick and smooth yet still raised.when it dries it dries lighter as it dries.

.Cornstarch

.Water

.Food coloring

.Containers/muffin tin

.Paint brushes

Mix equal parts water and cornstarch together if the consistent is to runny add more cornstarch.Add equal amount to each muffin hole and add different food coloring to each one and stir. You can make this a learning lesson by mixing colors and seeing the results and record it on paper.Great for the older ones.Grab a brush and paint away or even make a hopscotch out of the paint.

Water Bottle Sprinkler

Do have old two liter soda bottles lying around your house waiting to be recycled or used for crafts? it is summer and the weather is getting hot what to do? Do you or your children or perhaps even your pets like to play in sprinklers? This is perfect for You.You can easily make a sprinkler from a two litter soda bottle. You only need a few other items other than the soda bottle.

take the 2 liter bottle and attach the garden hose by using the male adapters. The bottom of the bottle use your push pin and make a few circles around the bottle a few times.Take your skewer and make the holes a little bigger.Know you are done hang it from the tree or a plant holder and have fun with it.

Reading Books

Reading will help boost your kids’ interest in learning and imaginations. If you’re having trouble getting your kids excited about books, try a contest. Barnes & Noble’s summer reading program rewards kids with a free book if they read eight this summer. Take your kids to the library, let them pick out their favorites, and use the contest to keep them motivated.Public libraries aren't just for borrowing books. Many host workshops, camps, reading days and even movies. (This weekend I’ll be seeing “The Hobbit” on the lawn in front of my local library.) Best of all, everything is free to library members and many activities are geared toward kids.My family loves to read a book and make a scrap page about the book.

Moon Sand

My kids always want to dig, get messy and play with their shovels.Kids love to make sand castles and build in the sand, so what better way to do this then in your own home. There is a a couple of ways you can make moon sand using simple ingredients and costing next to nothing you can make it yourself and own moon sand.

Materials:

10 lb bag of sand from Home depot ($5.00)

1 box of corn starch

Water

Large container(We got ours from Home Depot for $5.00 cement bin)

How to make:

Mix the dry ingredients together first then add the water.
When we made it we only did a little at a time so I mixed about 10 cups of sand to 5 cups of corn starch and and 1 cup of water. You don't want to use too much water. You just want it to have a damp feel, so you are able to mold it.If you wanted color moon sand you can add food coloring to each 5 cups or go to Walmart they have crayola colored sand and just add your water and corn starch.

You cant get the sand then you can just use ingredients in your home by mixing flour and baby oil or cooking oil together.8 cups of flour to 1 cup of oil and mix.

The kids will play for hours with this stuff. Now you can press it into molds to make fun shapes, squeeze it, pat it, or let it run through your fingers.Once you are done playing with it place in a sealed container and will be ready for the next play time.

Taking a vacation on the beach you could take the ingredients with you and make moon sand at the beach!

Giant Bubbles

You'll need:

.5 gallons of water

.10 cups dish washing liquid (you can also use Baby Shampoo!)

.2 cups light corn syrup

Mix all together in a kids plastic pool

Home made wand

What you need:

.2 garden bamboo garden stakes

.Butchers cotton string

Cut three equal lengths of the string which will form the top part of the wand hole.Know cut three slightly longer pieces of the string. This will form the bottom part of the wand hole.Knot the shorter string to one end of the stakes and braid them together but leave some string so you can tie the ends to the top of the other stake.Take the longer strings and knot them to the top strings close to the stake, braid together and knot the string on the other side of first string. That's it! Now dip it in your bubble solution and have fun!!

If you wanted to make a small amount of bubble mix just mix 3 cups of water,1 cup dish washing liquid,1/3 cup corn syrup.

Lemonade Stand

It just wouldn't be summer without a lemonade stand! For generations, kids have been hosting lemonade stands to make extra money in the summer.you might not get rich, you will get some extra money and hopefully learn something about what it means to have a business, too.Once you know what the weather is like for the day, then you will decide what money you will start of with you then have to take some of that money and buy supply's making lemonade and signs for your stand s.Know you have to decide the cost of per cup of lemonade and to make a small profit.Know to grab a table and decorate it bright so people will see you as they are going by.

You can make country time lemonade in a pitcher with ice and a drop of lime juice or you can make your own with a lemonade syrup.

FRESH LEMONADE SYRUP

2 teaspoons grated lemon peel

2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 cups granulated sugar

1-1/2 cups water

Additional water

Slices of fresh lemon

1. Combine lemon peel, juice, and sugar in a bowl or other container with lid. Stir until sugar dissolves.

2. Add 1-1/2 cups cold water and stir. Cover tightly and store in the refrigerator.

3. To make each individual serving of lemonade, pour 1/2 cup of the cold lemonade syrup into a tall glass. Add about 1/2 to 2/3 cup cold water and stir. More syrup and/or lemon syrup can be added to desired taste. Fill glass with ice cubes and a slice of lemon inside the glass and serve.
